Meet The Team

Leah

I am Leah Shaferly, a board-certified music therapist who earned my degree in Music Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University and completed my clinical internship at PlainSong Music Services.

My therapeutic philosophy centers on client-centered care, creative expression, and cultivating a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship. By blending humanistic and behavioral approaches, I tailor each session to foster meaningful breakthroughs that empower clients to live their best lives. Because every individual is unique, my sessions are always dynamic, fun, and personalized—a truly rewarding process to be a part of.

As a newly certified therapist who gained board credentials in 2025, I bring fresh, evidence-based energy to my practice. I have continuing experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, at-risk teens, and geriatric populations. This diverse experience allows me to adapt my clinical tools through age groups and demographics, ensuring every individual feels seen, heard, and supported.

Here at Mainstay, I am proud to provide comprehensive music therapy services to the Elkhart, Mishawaka, and South Bend communities. Outside of my clinical work, I love spending quality time with my family and friends, working on creative crafts like embroidery and painting, watching movies (especially Disney classics), and relaxing out on the water.
