Tony
I’m Tony, a board-certified music therapist and I have been working in developmental health since 2017. I earned my undergraduate degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2017 and my Master’s degree in music therapy from Augsburg University in 2023. I am also certified in DIRFloortime, an approach used to promote individual development through respectful, joyful, play-based experiences.
My therapeutic style is focused on developmental and relationship based approaches. I believe growth and development happen through relationships and through music we can create, explore, and develop relationships with ourselves and others. I view my role as a therapist as a co-explorer and support rather than an expert with answers.
As Director of Clinical Supervision at Mainstay I also provide support for the larger clinical team. Professional supervision is an integral part of a therapist’s practice and helps them to provide the best quality services they can by building self-awareness and advancing clinical skills. Providing supervision and supporting other members of the team is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.
Outside the therapy room I can also be found serving as a practicum supervisor and limited term lecturer at Purdue University Fort Wayne, teaching music therapy and general education courses. When I’m not doing music therapy related things I can most likely be found reading or crocheting in a quiet spot with a cup of coffee.
