We all know that AAC devices are essential for effective communication and need to go everywhere with the user. However, the thought of taking these valuable devices to the pool or the beach can be daunting for many families. Concerns about sand and water damage often lead to leaving the device behind, which can easily result in communication breakdowns and potential meltdowns due to the inability to communicate clearly.
To alleviate this issue, I’ve created two core boards that can be printed off and laminated or placed in a protective sleeve. These boards are designed with essential words and phrases that someone might need to say at the pool or the beach. This way, the AAC device can stay safely in the car, while the person can still communicate effectively!
