Summer AACtivities: Nature Hunt

Going on a nature walk is a fantastic way to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful summer weather! To make it even more engaging and educational, try our Nature Hunt activity tailored for AAC users. This activity combines outdoor fun with language practice, making it perfect for children who use AAC devices.

Nature Hunt Packet

Choose the board that best fits your child’s needs from the options below. We offer both colored pictures and black and white versions, depending on the level of challenge and visual stimulation you want to provide.

How to Get Started

2. **Prepare Your Supplies:** Grab a clipboard to make it easier to write while on the move.

3. **Head Outdoors:** Take your printed packet, clipboard, and a pen or pencil, and head out on your nature walk!

Words to Model

While on your nature walk, you can model a variety of useful words and phrases for AAC users. Here are some examples:

– **Look:** (e.g., “Look at the flowers.”)

– **Find:** (e.g., “Can you find a pine cone?”)

– **Where:** (e.g., “Where is the bird?”)

– **See:** (e.g., “I see a butterfly!”)
